happy women's History Month with the first half of the Year behind us I would like to reflect on the progress we've made in achieving our goals this year our teachers and staff have been working together to improve our students learning and we are excited to are that our students showed growth and progress on the nwea test with most meeting or exceeding their mid-year goals while this is promising news there is still so much work to be done with your support ensuring our students are School daily prepared ready to show us their Brilliance there is nothing we can't accomplish during February we had a month full of great activity is exposing our students to what is possible and inspiring them to dream the black hole free programs with top-notch students are so talented our students learned about the importance of hbcus is starkly black colleges and universities and the divine nine in our community I would like to thank our guests to participate in our inaugural Real Men read day at are elementary schools nearly 100 men including young men from Rich Township High School football team family members Community leaders and board members visited our pre-k through fifth grade classrooms reading books to our students I want to extend a special thank you to everyone who made our February even successful shout out to mrs. Friday mrs. Mitchell mrs. Jones Miss Davis Gilman our school administrators and staff for making this all possible there are always so many people behind the scenes who make our events fantastic March is women's history month we will highlighting and celebrating the contributions and accomplishments of women in our community country and the world we will also have a women's history themed door decorating contest I can't wait to see the creativity and learn about some amazing women registration for the 2020 for 2025 school year will be open soon be on the lookout for that important information mark your calendar March 4th is here Summit Day no school for all March 15th March Madness Elementary School District 159 staff versus the community basketball games March 20th is the Board of Ed patient meeting at 6:30 March 22nd teacher Institute Danos no school for students March 29th through April 6th is spring break please don't forget to fill out the five essential survey to give your input and feedback on the effectiveness of our schools the results of the online survey will assist us in guiding School Improvement visit our website to complete this important survey parents Garden and community members thank you for your continued support of our efforts will extend an invitation for you to join the PTO volunteer attend board meetings and events together we will continue to prepare do our district forward and thrive in 159
