In order to attend Matteson Elementary School District 159, students must reside within our school boundaries. We serve parts of Tinley Park, Richton Park and Matteson. This is in accordance with Illinois School Code 105 5/10-20.12b which states "If a pupil is determined to be a nonresident of the district for whom tuition is required to be charged pursuant to this Section, the board shall refuse to permit the pupil to continue attending the schools of the district unless the required tuition is paid for the pupil". As part of the process, the district engages National Investigations, Inc. to assist in the residency verification process and to conduct physical residency checks whenever there is reasonable suspicion. See the linked sample letter for more information.
