greetings everyone I'm back in elementary school district 159 and happy Hispanic Heritage Month Hispanic Heritage Month began as an annual fee history and culture of the US Latino and Hispanic Community we also celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month Spanish-American who have inspired others to it the event commemorates how those communities have influence they contributed to American Society at large observation began in 1968 as Hispanic heritage heritage week at my new job and was expanded by President Ronald Reagan in 1988 to cover a 30 day. Hispanic Heritage Month Sunday October 15 2023 our community health and resource fair in Partnership Village of Madison and congresswoman the event included 95 resource providers from educational and governmental nonprofit Social Service and Health Care Agency and was attended by nearly 500 people I would like to our family and Community engagement coordinator as well as the planning committee I am also grateful for our partners and the resource October also bully prevention month and we will focus our efforts in promoting several events during the month we will kick off the 17th annual world day of bullying prevention on October the goal of world day of bullying prevention is to encourage schools communities and organizations to work together to stop bullying and cyberbullying and put it into hatred and racism by increasing awareness of the an impact of all forms of belief on all chips children of all ages look for more information from your principles they sometimes work while we sleep sometime you walk around them in the Halls not always seeing them where they're at or their work is important that's why we love this day National custodian day rolls around every October 2nd hard work it takes to keep our school facilities in Tip-Top shape as well as the people who diligently make sure we have school and work spotless and sanitary I would like to cordially invite you to attend our fall family chat and choose to share your thoughts and ideas and give your input as we worked learning of a scholar I will meet parents and community members 8:30 to 9:30 October 11th 8 9:30 on October 17th 7:30 to 8:30 Neil Armstrong on October 24th 8:30 to 9:30 and Steven Prairie on October 25th 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. please come out I would like to congratulate our director of communications with the chill your Friday are we saving for award from the Illinois National School public relations Association I work in public relations the Board of Education invites you to attend our community safety Forum on Thursday October 26th at 6 p.m. at Kohl's PowerSchool our speakers will be myself doctor McCoy and our school resource officer Evan we will go over district-wide safety protocol behavioral expectation discuss Community Legal updates and trans talk about social media cautions and we will discuss prohibited items as we near the end of I want to think outside of our staff and our families for your efforts and continue to with you all as our partners we will continue to thrive
