greetings everyone it is a great day for teaching and learning in elementary school district 159 happy October I am. send it and I have a few really important messages and events that I would like to talk about the very first one starting October 1st we have a new feature and new communication feature that you can find a website called let's talk it's really simple it is our goal to improve our internal and external communication you will see the icon says let's talk in that communication will ghost it will be spring my straight to the person or Department that you're looking for so you got a question about Transportation you or click on Transportation that information goes straight to the in about a jar that will go straight to HR officer if you want to speak to me you have a compliment you have a question that will come straight to me so make sure that you look on our website starting October 1st for that let's talk icon and our next thing that I would like to talk about is that you are cordially invited to my fall family tattoos they will happen in your schools the dates are fourth I will be at Woodgate at from 9 to 10 October 14th at Seton Prairie on the 9 a.m. on October 18th at Colin Powell same time 9 a.m. 10 a.m. October 20th at Neil Armstrong from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. and October 21st I will be at Yates Elementary School from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. so please drop off your loved one your child your nice you're her nephew and come inside and spending about an hour with me I'll have some pastries some donuts and some coffee and let's just chat and to get to know each other for any questions that you have I look forward to seeing you there another thing I would like to bring up is our read for 20 campaign starting in October and I want to talk about reading with your child for 20 minutes daily or having your child read to themselves or you or a pet or a sibling for 20 minutes and there are seven benefits for a reading to Children supported cognitive development improved skill preparation for academic success developing a special bond with your child increase concentration and discipline improved imagination and creativity cultivating life love life manga I love reading in Reading 20 minutes a day exposes kids to a vast quantity of words 1.8 million in each school year actually in this exposure mix more likely to score in the 90th percentile on standardized test young children preteens and teens can all read a number of benefits from Reading 20 minutes a day whether that's helping them learn. the world around them increasing their academic performance discovering their own untapped creative potential or just hanging out and enjoying a great book and then finally I would like to send please take some time to support all of our school events come out to a basketball game come out to a soccer game, join the PTO whatever it is because it is really a that we have that parents home-school connection and that will help us thrive in 159
