One of the easiest practices to help keep the learning environment safe is to change passwords on a regular basis.

After consultation with Illinois Department of Public Health and careful consideration of the health and safety of students and staff, Elementary School District 159 have made the decision to begin the 2020-2021 school year with remote learning for all students. In addition, the first day of lessons has been delayed until August 24.

Appointments to register NEW students in grades K-8th will be done by appointment only. Appointments can be made July 28th-30th, from 10AM-3PM by contacting your neighborhood school. All RETURNING students must complete registration online.

On Monday, July 27th, the Board Of Education approved our School District reopening plan for the 2020 school year. Inasmuch, we are hosting virtual town hall meetings to provide information about our Remote Learning Plan. Elementary School District 159 calendar for the 2020-2021 school year has been amended to reflect pushing back the school year by one week. Our official reopening for the 2021 academic year is now Monday, August 24, 2020. During this time, students will return to school remotely for two weeks. However, we are examining a hybrid model with a remote option. Further guidance is forthcoming.

On May 29th Superintendent Alfred and Board of Education members President, Dr. William McClinton, Vice-President Mrs. Carolyn Palmer, Ms. Debra Ellis and Mrs. Regina Edgecombe made surprise visits to our 9 retirees to thank them for their contributions to our school district. The retirees received gifts and yard signs were placed in each of their yards.
