Student Services Department
Dr. Lisa Woods, Director of Student Services
Dear parents and guardians,
It is with great pleasure that I write this letter of introduction as District 159’s new director of student services. As your director, I pledge to provide our children with challenging and rewarding educational experiences.
Although our students are making continuous progress each year, we expect even higher levels of academic performance from all of our students. Effective students, like effective schools, are driven by high standards. This year, we will focus on ensuring that our students see themselves as outstanding and responsible learners. They will be provided with rigorous and enriching experiences.
To achieve these goals, we will need the assistance from every household. As we continue to achieve higher levels of academic excellence, we ask for your support. Soon you will receive a survey requesting your feedback. We value your thoughts and suggestions as we improve our programs. Please complete and return the survey by the date indicated on it.
In closing, we welcome your active participation during the 2017-2018 school year and solicit your involvement in our schools and programs. Working together, we will be able to reach our collective and individual goals. We look forward to celebrating with you the high academic, social and emotional achievements of our students as we join our superintendent to “blaze a train steeped in progress, perseverance and persistence.” This 2017-2018 school year will indeed be the best school year yet!
Dr. Lisa Woods
