District 159 Technology Support

 

 

Our goal continues to be creation and support of an environment where students, teachers, staff, administrators and the community can readily use technology to assist in aspects of their daily lives and tasks.  We have sought to enhance and simplify the process of learning, teaching, and/or producing tangible results in the computer lab, the classroom, and at home.   Staff members and students can, and have, accessed our servers from all over the World.

The Technology team is responsible for the evaluation, recommendation, purchasing, installation and support of  both data and voice networks.  The Technology team supports six locations, five schools and the Districts Administrative office. The Districts technological environment is composed of  desktop and laptops; wired and wireless.

The Technology team is committed to providing timely and professional service.  In order to ensure timely responses, please adhere to the process below when requesting services. The use of email is the preferred method for requesting technology services.

Requesting Access to District 159 Network

In order to utilize any of the hardware or software tools located on the district network you must have a logon account.  To get an account your manager must submit a request to the Tech team.  In order to expedite your request make sure the following information is provided;

In order to gain access to the Student Information System you must obtain a UserName and password to access the application.  To get an account your manager must submit a request to the Tech team.  In order to expedite your request make sure the following information is provided;

Telephone Request

The District utilizes Voice-Over-Internet-Protocol (VOIP) technology.  The technology team is responsible for the installation and administration of the telephone system.  If telephone service is required, please click on the appropriate link below and provide the following information in the body of the email.

Request Use of Multimedia Equipment

The District 159 user community has access to a variety of tools to assist with making the learning process engaging.  Each of the K-5 buildings have access to a SMART board, which can be checked out by teachers to assist with the delivery of their classroom materials.  Additionally there are 3 SMART boards at the middle school, one for each grade level.  Also each building is equipped with laptop carts and a laptop/projector cart.

The Technology Team has a check-out process in place.  The check-out process is used to ensure that we can locate our assets at all times.  To check-out a Smart board;

  1. Go to the -

    At the K-5 Buildings - The Computer Lab

     2. Get the sign-out book and sign-out the Smart Board

    3. After you have finished using the Smart Board, return it.

    4. Get the sign-out book and log the date and time the cart was returned.
