Concert Band Program
Welcome to the Concert Band Program at Colin Powell Middle School!! We have a rich tradition of musical excellence. Concert Band is comprised of 7th and 8th graders who have passed a rigorous audition in order to earn their place in the group. We perform extensively at our school, in our community, and at various competitions throughout Illinois. Concert Band has performed in St. Louis, Cedar Point, and Disney!
After school rehearsals are conducted every Thursday from 2:30 to 4:00 p.m. A student with 3 or more unexcused absences from Rehearsal is ONLY allowed to perform at the Band Directors’ discretion. We expect all members of the Concert Band to attend every rehearsal and performance with NO EXCEPTIONS. We provide students and parents with a list of Important Dates at the beginning of the school year; please plan vacations and events accordingly.

Concert Band Uniform Parents must provide:
- White Tuxedo Shirt (The shirts are available at Burlington Coat Factory and the Men's Formal Wear Store in Matteson)
- Black Socks
- Black Dress Shoes
The School will loan you:
- Tuxedo Pants
- Bow Tie
- Tuxedo Jacket
