Composed and distributed membership
applications to all staff
and students - 29 families / 28 staff joined.
Developed a Mission Statement,
Constitution and Bylaws for
the PTO.
Established a Ways and Means Committee
for funding.
Decorated the school for Christmas.
Co-sponsored Honors breakfast.
Held a Spirit Wear Sale and raised
$894.11.
Co-hosted the CPMS Grand Opening on
January 21st.
Solicited a donation from M&M Mars
Company for over
1,000 ice cream sandwiches and cones.
Distributed ice cream on Spirit Day.
Partnered with the BEST Committee for
referendum during
the Election in November.
Held Teen IDOL auditions in the spring.
Purchased gifts for Administrative
Professionals Day
in April.
Provided vending machines for the staff
in the
Teacher's Lounge.
Provided Teacher Appreciation Week
treats and luncheon.
Purchased gifts for the National Junior
Honor Society.
Purchased Volunteer gifts and pins.
Hosted 8th Grade Graduation reception.
Purchased gifts for 8th Grade Graduates.
Established a Children In Need
fund.

The Colin Powell P.T.O.
is an organization that is dedicated to:
- promoting a closer
relationship between home and school, so that parents and
teachers co-operate meaningfully for the welfare of the child.
- promoting a united
effort between education and community that will obtain for
every child the highest levels of Academic Excellence and Social
Achievement.
- providing
activities, events, and support for the students, families and
faculty of Colin Powell Middle School.
We are asking that you
join us in our efforts to achieve these goals.
We are also asking that
you support your P.T.O. by attending our monthly meetings with ideas
and suggestions to help us.
