Here at Colin Powell Middle School we have over 800 students. For safety, security and management reasons, we require students to have student ID cards that are visible at all times while on school property. The student ID cards are imperative for students at lunch time and when getting on the bus. We understand that there are times when a student may forget their ID card and will need a temporary ID. Temporary ID cards are issued once per week for these students. We truly need parental support as we deal with the issue of student ID cards because we are finding more and more instances where students have lost their ID cards and their temporary ID cards and parents are not aware of this. Please talk with your child about their student ID and ask to see it.
Starting, Wednesday, March 21, 2007, if a student does not have their ID card and have lost their temporary ID, the student will be offered a jelly sandwich and milk for lunch. Information concerning replacement ID cards is as follows:
Colin Powell Middle School Student ID Card Information:
Replacement ID cost: $2
Lanyards: $3
Temporary ID Only one issued per student, per week
As always, students are required to wear their student ID cards at all times while on school property. We are trying to avoid issuing negative consequences (detentions) for students who do not have an ID card but we need your help and support.
On a daily basis, students will be asked to show their ID cards when receiving lunch and when boarding the bus in the afternoon. Students can request a replacement ID in the office or with their homeroom teacher. Temporary ID’s (one per student, per week) are issued in the cafetorium.
If you have any questions, please give the school a call at (708) 283-9600.
Thank you for your continued support.
